The stepper motor driver L293D is mainly made of durable carbide and plastic materials. The L293D is a monolithically integrated high-voltage, high- current, 4-channel motor driver designed to interface standard DTL or TTL logic levels to drive inductive loads (such as relay coils, DC and stepper motors) and switch power transistors and much more. To simplify dual-bridge application, the L293D is equipped with an enable input for each channel pair. The L293D logic has an independent current input that operates at lower voltages. In addition, the L293D also has a built-in clamping diode. The L293D is suitable for switching applications up to 5 kHz.
