Adafruit LSM6DS3TR-C 6-DoF Accel + Gyro IMU, STEMMA QT/Qwiic, 4503
Add motion sensing to your Arduino project with this affordable 6 degrees of freedom (6-DoF) sensor from ST. The board uses the ST LSM6DS3TR-C, a top entry-level IMU with acceleration sensor and gyroscope. The 3-axis acceleration sensor shows you the direction to the earth (by gravity measurement) and acceleration in 3D space. The 3-axis gyroscope measures rotation and twist. This board is an update to the popular LSM6DS33, but with better performance. Note that it is not firmware compatible, so you will need to recompile code (e.g. for Arduino and Python Libraries). To get started, we have placed the sensors on a compact board with voltage regulator and level converter. So you can use them with 3V or 5V devices. Both interfaces, I2C and SPI, are available. The board is fully assembled and tested, including headers for breadboard use and four mounting holes. This sensor does not contain a magnetometer, which is often needed for accurate orientation. The LIS3MDL 3-axis magnetometer is a good addition here. Since the device is I2C compatible, you can easily connect it with two wires (plus power and ground).
Product Features
- Easy to use the compact breakout with the ST LSM6DS3TR-C sensors is perfect for your Arduino projects. With just one small board, you can easily measure movement and orientation
- High accuracy: the 6-DoF technology with 3-axis acceleration sensor and 3-axis gyroscope ensures precise data for motion response in 3D rooms. Ideal for everything from robots to wearables!
- Versatile connectivity you can easily connect the sensors via I2C or SPI. This gives you the flexibility to use them with different micro-controllers - without much effort!
- Easy to assemble the additional headers and four mounting holes make it super easy to use on a breadboard. You are ready for your next projects in no time!
- Complete support programming is child's play thanks to the available libraries for Arduino/C++ and Python/CircuitPython. So you can focus on the essentials - crafting and experimenting!
